You can have Blog posts generated entirely by Durable's AI, or you can write your own if you feel inspired! Having a blog boosts SEO for websites because it adds fresh content, which search engines love. It increases a site's visibility, helps it rank higher in search results, and attracts inbound links from other sites, building credibility and authority.

Before you begin

You need to add a blog page. Please see this help centre document for guidance.

How to create a blog post

  1. Go to Website > Edit.

  2. Click the "Manage pages" button at the top middle.

  3. Click the Blog page >click "+ Create blog post."

  4. Once clicked, it will prompt you for a subject on which to write the blog. It will also give you some suggestions if you're unsure where to start. You can add any subject or industry-specific question, and it will be added to the post.

  5. The blog post will generate. Click "Save" in the top bar.

The blog posts are in the Draft status by default.

Creating a Blog Post from Scratch

  2. Click the "Manage pages" button at the top middle.

Edit blog posts

You'll have the option of formatting your text by highlighting and clicking on the area. Please also see this page for detailed guidance: Edit blog posts.

Additionally, you can add images, tables or videos - note: all videos must be first uploaded to a source like YouTube or Vimeo.

You'll also be prompted to Publish the post - you can save a post without publishing it, but once published, it'll be active on your website.

You'll have access to all your posts on the main Blog page.

Please Note: The Blog page will automatically appear in the Home Menu if there are any existing posts. However, the blog link will only appear on the Header/Footer menu if there is at least one published article.

Publish blog posts

  1. After clicking "Save" in the previous step, click "Settings" on the right.

  2. Move the toggle on the "Published" section.

  3. Click "Save" in the settings panel.

How to edit blog title

  2. Hover the cursor on the post you want to edit the title and click the pencil icon (edit).

  3. Click "Settings" on the right-hand side of the title panel.

  4. This will open the following menu, allowing you to change the title, published date, and slug*, as well as the title image and overlay.

    * A website slug is a user-friendly, descriptive portion of a URL that identifies a specific page or post on a website.

  5. Change the title, date, slug, banner image, etc., and click "Save" in the Settings panel when finished.

Deleting a Blog Post

To delete a blog post,

  1. Go to the Blog page in the website editor.

  2. Hover the cursor on the post you want to delete.

  3. Click the trash can icon.

  4. Confirm the deletion by clicking "Delete."

Important note: Once you've initially created the Blog page, it cannot be deleted, even with zero posts. It will not count towards the page limit, depending on the plan you are on. It won't show up on your live website and can only be seen when you're logged into your Durable account.

Adding a blog section to your website is an easy and powerful way to create engaging content, improve your SEO ranking, and increase the reach of your brand. With a Durable AI website builder, you can get started with just a few clicks.
